A display font for the climbing world
Edlinger conveys a strong typographic identity, evoking the world of climbing through rock-like shapes while avoiding the clichés of literal figuration.
Bold, angular and geometric, the radical drawings of the letters references the silhouettes of boulders, creating a striking visual language that invites a simple yet highly effective form of singular communication.
Even though the letterforms are barely legible and designed primarily for display use, they nevertheless closely look at familiar shapes to improve character recognition and minimize misreads – which, let’s face it, are quite probable with a font like this. Below are rectangular, triangular and round letters.

The character set has been kept intentionally simple, yet it provides essential tools and basic glyphs to cover common typographic needs effectively.
